Toei, with how close to catching up you've been for the longest time, you need to give One Piece more than just a mere three filler episodes. It needs at least two cours worth of fillers if the pacing of the canon material is to ever be improved. Rolling Eyes

I find it funny that naruto shippuden is drowning in filler and light novel material, while one piece is dying of thirst for some Anime hyper.

Surprised that they gonna make only a 3ep filler with the way how the pacing was in the recent episodes and how quickly it is catching up to the manga. Would have probably been better if the made a few more filler episodes.

You expect Toei to put any effort in an anime they make? What do they care? They'll still make money no matter how little effort they put. That's why I hate them and I'm also being hesitant to start OP.

SQUANDERED!

OP is dangerously close to the source, here you have a chance to do some decent 10-12 episodes of filler and you throw it away! Congrats you'll gain two weeks distance from the manga because Oaa will be off one week and Jump will be off soon after for Goldenweek, way to go Toei!

This is Bullshit. Fuji TV (and likely Bandai) are the ones pulling the show's strings. Stop blaming Toei for it. Seriously, it always annoys the piss when somebody jumps on the studio, because for some odd reason, anime fans have no idea of how the industry works. It leads to a perpetuation of falsehoods. Which really sucks because the people (the animators) ARE putting in the effort, and a massive amount of it - like to an absurd degree. As an animator myself it annoys me to see these people being called lazy, or some variation, they're working for nigh impossible deadlines in an industry that can barely contain itself. Give these guys props. If it's the business that bothers you, take it to the people that have their names higher up on the show's credits - the producers, Fuji TV.

What's even weirder is anime is the only fandom that does this. When a Battlefield game is rushed people will usually blame EA, not Dice. When The Simpsons episodes are bad, people will Blame Fox, not AKOM.... Why is this an anime thing?

If the animators really did put any effort then I wouldn't be here saying that. And alright, I might not know how the industry works, but Toei has a history of offensively bad animation AND slow pacing, if all of their problems are the producer's fault then isn't it time to make a change?? I think people would jump at the chance to produce DBS and OP since they both make a lot of money and are famous, but Toei doesn't see that as a problem, they keep doing the same thing over and over again, why? Because the money flows and companies only care about that.

That's what I was thinking too. They had the opportunity to make this longer and more drawn out, as this premise has a lot of potential and there are no external deadlines the way the movie tie-in filler stories had. There is no reason to keep it at only 3 episodes. I mean, if they're going to make it that short, why even make this filler story in the first place?

DAMMIT TOEI!!!! THE HELL IS THIS CRAP!??!?!
Make a filler that's at leats 10 episodes long not frickin' 3 episodes -.-'
The anime needs to improve it's pacing, so stop being lazy!!!!!!!!
DO NOT RUIN TOTTO LAND ARC!!!!!
Do serieosly want to repeat the mistakes you did in DBZ where the manga was ahead only by 10 chapters for majority of Frieza saga?

Well fudge. I expected as much... It's honestly like Toei has no confidence in filler episodes even though One Piece seriously needs it right now as Oda's taking breaks quite often.

It's almost like you don't realize the manga exists. Laughing

Yes I do pal, but I'm currently talking about the anime and not the manga, it's not hard to realise that.

3 episodes?? Dammit Toei! Besides the fact that we need more filler to improve the pacing, this actually could've been a decent filler arc and they're just throwing it away!

Off topic but in some instances of game releases being rushed you can actually blame the publisher's as they're the ones who more often than not, setup the release dates for the games or deadlines for end of production and tend to have have no scruples in putting out games that they know full well are not finished.

Just look at what happened with the PC version of Arkham Knight or even more infamously Sonic 2006.
