Heh, I had a bank of a robot that did stuff like this when I was little. When it detected some weight in its circular hands, it would drop it into its mouth and simulate chewing. The technology was not as sophisticated then as it is now though, and the mechanical sounds were louder than it might seem (but wouldn't be out of place for a robot). I take it the music that plays for this bank is to hide the mechanical sounds too, but I'm sure they've been able to design these quieter than they did in decades past.
