Oh... joy. I hope CR pickis this up as well. I can't stand Amazon's BS. The only ones worse are Netflix. I hope both leave the anime business, but they have too much money for that to happen.

Good thing I already have a Strike membership. After they put part of their simulcasts on Strike last season (Urara that is) it seemed to me that Sentai would make Strike their venue of choice (other than TAN) after previously sending their stuff to Hulu.
Simulcasts aside, I don't think Amazon's presence is wholly unwelcome. I would never have been able to see the Nanoha franchise (legally) if not for them. If they can use their wallet to grab titles out of the price range that regular anime streaming sites like that and Macross, by all means. |

I've been an Amazon Prime member for quite some time. When Amazon started out putting Anime up as part of the existing Prime content that was fine. But to ask for an additional sum above what Prime already costs? To be honest that act caused me to make a decision and I spent my money with Crunchyroll.

Oh boy whose genius idea was it to put one of the season's most anticipated shows behind a malicious double pay wall?
This certainly won't cause a bunch more people to pirate it no siree! Seriously though, Netflix and Amazon have no clue how anime streaming should be done properly. If they keep getting more and more shows, they push more people to piracy, which will screw up the Western anime market (and in turn, the anime market in general). |

While I don't particularly care about the Dungeon franchise, I certainly hope this won't mean that Anime Strike will be the exclusive place for Sentai simulcasts. I'm still ticked over the fact that Anime Strike is an extra charge on top of Prime just in the US.

Does this mean that Sentai has some kind of deal with Amazon to help them acquire new licenses? If that is true, I am in favor of it. Amazon entering the anime market might be troublesome, but I feel more comfortably if they are working with Sentai.
I have Anime Strike, but for those who do not, I hope Sword Oratoria eventually shows up in Crunchyroll, Hulu or Yahoo View. |

if CR doesnt get this also then I guess that is one less series that ill be watching. plus it looks like ill be able to get rid of anime network as well.

I just really can't get behind the double dipping fee personally, I'm fine paying for prime and if anime streamed with prime that'd be great, but the extra 60 dollars a year for Strike pretty is rough in my opinion. I'm really looking forward to this show as well so it's unfortunate.

As someone who doesn't even have Prime because it's not worth the money for me, these Anime Strike streaming deals are way too cost prohibitive. I'm not even particularly interested in the backlog titles but I'd be willing to pay a subscription solely for the service even though they don't have many simulcasts because I've heard good things about their video quality.
As of now though it feels like they're screwing over anime fans who aren't already a part of their ecosystem. I hope Sword Oratoria is available on other streaming sites but in the meantime Amazon needs to open up Anime Strike to non-Prime users. |
