Sadly 0 of them were for the PC which is why that port remains broken and unpatched.

PC numbers aren't as reliable, but the best available source [SteamSpy] has it sitting at around 250k.

The only major issue is the resolution glitch, and that's already been fixed with a simple patch whipped together by the fanbase.

Been playing for a little over 20 hours so far on the PC version & just unlocked the waypoint/transport function on save points.

Game worked fine on day 1 on our PC at 1600x900 (is an AMD/Radeon system). I installed the community patch after hearing such good things about it, and it's increased the visual quality & performance even further - was barely any effort on my part. I cannot recommend the game enough.

To anyone on the fence about buying, story-wise, the original Nier & Drakengard 3 prompted much crying, I expect this one will too.....and you don't necessarily need to have played both of those to enjoy Automata. Gameplay-wise, this REALLY reminds me of Bayonetta with how time slows when you dodge correctly.

Most of the negativity over the PC port are the butthurt kiddies that don't have patience. Yes it has Denuvo, but Gods Eater did too & neither games have given me issues or problems. Yes, others have reported some hiccups & issues at high resolutions, but the wonderful community patch fixes them (I never had those problems prior to the patch anyways). I went in to Automata keeping in mind that Drakengard 3 has some naaaaaaasty frame drops on the PS3, and was pleasantly surprised to see a game that runs smooth as ice & rarely if ever slows down on my rig, so I have nothing but praises to sing about my experience so far. Said PC is also a few years old and we have the gfx settings on mid-high.

It´s good to have actual numbers now but does this mean this make the game a proper success or not? Bayonetta 1 solid 4 times as many copies but the sequel only came about due to Nintendo desperately needing games. This isn´t another no budget Drakengard anymore after all.

I think over 1 million is a huge success for a low budget game like this, It's selling an order of a magnitude more than the first Nier and is the first Yoko Taro game to be both a critical and commercial success.

I guarantee Square Enix were projecting the sales to be much lower than this based off of both Yoko Taro and Platinum's general lack of commercial success. This game was a gigantic risk, I'm glad it paid off for them!

I'm totally thrilled that NieR: Automata has succeeded in Japan as well as in America! Smile
