As someone who works at McDonald's, I can tell you the toys are nothing special lol. If anything, though, I hope it opens the gates for more gaming-related toys.

...Senran Kagura toys with squishy boobs, anyone?

I think McD's did Mario toys something like 25 years ago, I remember getting a few with my meals.

They did when Super Mario Bros. 3 came out. Had a cloud car Luigi and a Raccoon Mario.

Yep, and then after that, McDonald's had an exclusivity deal with Disney in 1996, and as a result, Happy Meal toys were almost entirely Disney, with the annual gender-segregated toys month being the exception. Nintendo franchises went to Burger King and Wendy's instead. I remember when Burger King nabbed the Pokémon rights, and kids swarmed the restaurants. You could feel the McDonald's executives' envy the moment you stepped in.

Then, Disney started losing their brand name trust with flops like Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and I guess the agreement ended because I started seeing Disney and Pixar toys at other fast food places, with even Subway getting in on it as of late with the Wreck-It Ralph and Finding Dory themed bags.

I should go visit a McDonald's and see if these toys do anything. The pictures don't really make it clear.

If I recall correctly, McDonald's had Sonic-themed toys very recently, themed on Sonic Boom. If anything, that'd mean Sonic paved the way for Mario to be at McDonald's.

I don't think kids care that much about squishy boobs though. Maybe if you had a Grown-Ups Meal...

That reminds me--it would be pretty neat if the Happy Meal boxes resemble ? Blocks. I'm not going to order a Happy Meal just to find out though.
