New visual looks great.

Btw, I think there's a minor error in the article. I think it's supposed to say July 9th rather than June.

Getting more and more hyped, this could be so enjoyable if done correctly.

The title of the song caught my attention, I'm definitely curious now to see how it will be.

Looking good. I'm rooting for Amazon and Netflix, hopefully 1 of the 2 get it. Preferably Netflix.

Reminds me of Bamboo Blade. "If you can't do anything else, play Ping Pong. And if you can't do that, do [insert series theme here]."

True, they did skip the first step...
Baby steps... no, literally, Baby Steps... another main character who didn't do anything, meet a girl who liked tennis so he suddenly liked tennis. Here, our feckless protagonist met a debonair guy... who loves ballroom dancing... yeah, that's normal...

I'm not the audience for this, am I?

*If the main character always wanted to it, he'd either mastered it or given up already.

But this kind of storytelling is only necessary for common activities. For something like ballroom dancing, it is possible if not probable that our lead had no idea there was such a thing for it. However, it's even more probable that he never came into contact with such an esoteric activity in the first place.

So... the point is to connect the two male characters in what I can already see from the design is shoujo... Couldn't have him see the guy in action, the art of the dance itself, it has to be what absolutely looks like a rescue "meet cute"?

I'm really not the audience for this.

This reminds me more of Nodame Cantabile, than anything you've mentioned...

If you're a guy who places importance on initial premise over the actual execution then yeah, this is probably not for you.

First, the manga this adaptation is based on is actually a shounen even though the mangaka is a female. This is not a fujo-pandering show ala Yuri on Ice like most people first thought of and it actually has straight hetero-pairings in it. If you want a comparison, the early part of this series reminds me a lot of Hajime no Ippo in terms of the characters' relations with the MC (like the "master" figure, the rival character, the bro figure, but not the romance though lol).

For your first point, that's the case for this. For the second point, well, he's just caught with the flow at first but he did end up seeing the guy in action later on. I have to say, the mangaka did really well to portray the intensity of the dancing even if you probably wouldn't expect that much intensity from ballroom dancing in the first place, but that's what the manga did. Razz

When all is said and done though, I'd still recommend you to at least give the first episode a try when it comes out or the first chapter of the manga a read. Who knows, you might like it better than you first thought. Smile

I think the reason this series is considered awesome is actually because of how hot blooded it is. I mean dancing? Hot blooded? Who could've imagined!

Try watching a paso doble in a competition. You'll see what they mean.

Well, if a skating anime can be a success, why not....ballroom dancing!?

Seriously through, my impediment to this is the ugly character designs for the dancing. I'm well aware that due to the nature of public performance, makeup and presentation are exaggerated but I don't think it works here. It's not elegant and comes off as "old shoujo" and is very distracting. (the extra cervical vertebrae to make the necks longer is hilarious.)

Still, I'll give it a few episodes.

Who'd a though a guy would be fawning over a ballroom anime? Nope, not me either.
