So what the hell are these movies? Prequels? Compilation films with new footage or a reimagining of the series? If it's a compilation, count me out.

So if I'm understanding the article correctly, this is basically them rebooting the original series with additions/changes here and there to expand on some lore and maybe improve the original story.

The first movie is supposed to be a prequel and the other two are supposed to be a retelling of the original TV series.

I feel like this has already been done before.

No, no it hasn't. There was however a movie that told a completely different story with the same character designs. The relationship between the movie and the series was tenuous at best!

There is also a manga that tells another story as well.

The voice of Amuro Ray as the dad who single handedly saved the world. IMO, quite fitting. Very Happy

I'm very, very interested in watching this on the big screen.

I'll watch this but I'm not getting my hopes up. Not after the movie and not after AO.

I hope the original ending they're going for isn't that one from the drama CD where spoiler[Eureka somehow can split her soul into 7 pieces and sends Renton off on a quest to find them ]. It could easily lead into another series but that would be horrible imo

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in this, but I'm in the camp of thought that Eureka Seven honestly was a flop of series. The beginning, with all the drama of Renton and Holland, was fantastic, but the series quickly lost its direction; going all over the place, yet nowhere at all at the same time. It did nothing to make me care about Dewey, and that thing with Charles and Ray felt 500% forced and unnecessary.
