The conservative joke would be to say that the big bad government was rationing nose space, ever since the great Escaflowne Crisis of 1996.

Wait, wait, don't tell me...

The noses are in profile?

Or:

Hearing about cartoon characters with no noses from a talking duck is like anime accusing Disney of having characters with too big eyes.

Or:

If you want to point fingers at bad art, buddy, start with a mirror.

Or:

In anime, it's not the noses you have to keep track of.

Wait, I don't have to come up with 20 of these, I was thinking of something else that had to do with noses.

Steve Martin could come up with 20 of them!
But your "nose" jokes don't have to run that far, 's not a big deal.

I haven't read Mallard Fillmore since my local newspaper moved it from the comics page to the editorial page because "it belongs with the other political cartoons". I remember being amused that they never did the same with Doonesbury, and now I can't help but think what the author of that comic would have to say about anime.

Are people really getting offended over this cartoon?
It's a joke people.

Do I need to bring up the old issue of talking cartoon animals that too often don't wear pants yet still wear vests or shirts.

Edit: Apparently the context for this post was deleted, so I'll just go ahead and delete the rest of it?

Probably the same reason why many cartoon ducks copy the Donald Duck type of bill rather than an actual more pointed duck bill

I guess that Mallard watches a lot of slice of life Anime series because characters in those series only have a small dot for a nose. Laughing

Good lord you people can't take a joke. Loosen up a little bit and maybe consider that taking cheap potshots at [political party you don't like] is about as mature as [members of political party you don't like] doing the exact same thing, vice versa.

The comic is about as funny as I would expect any "newspaper funny" to be at this point in my life. That being, it made me smirk ever so slightly and go "heh."

But conservatism x anime gave us those glorious Japanese Trump sh*tposts, so I'm inclined to disagree.

Sometimes I wonder about the noses myself.
Anime seems to have some 'interesting' interpretations of 2D nose.
Honestly, the reason why I haven't got around to watching Selector Infected Wixoss is because the nose design puts me off. But that's just me and no offense.
