It may be both things: 3 movies and 9 episodes, telling the same story but with different cuts.
If only the same could be done for Sailor Moon Crystal arc 4.

I would prefer it be 9 20-minute episodes since Funi has better chance of getting that a simuldub than a movie trilogy version.
