w00t!
I'm glad Crimson Hero was nominated.

There are some others I'd have like to have seen, oh well ..

I'm glad Crimson Hero made it! I sure saw some good Tokyopop and Viz Media mangas too.

'bout time comics get their own list . . . even if it is under a title that I personally think is silly. ("Graphic Novels?" Bleh.)

Yay for the Off*Beat!

Well, at least "Graphic Novels" is much better than the Über-pretentious term "sequential art" that the hardcore "don't call comic books 'comic books'" nerds use.

Don't forget the oh-so pompous "comix".
Anyways, seems like a fairly good list, except for a few picks. I'd have liked to see Sexy Voice and Robo on there, though I can see how it wouldn't appeal to many teens. Also, Blue would have been a exellent pick for it's themes that deal with teen sexuality and friendship, but unfortunatally practically no one knows it even exists. Love Roma is also better than most of the manga on there.
Minus points for caving into the hype and putting Infinite Crisis on the list. Seriously, teens don't need to be reading yet another soap opera, with supervillian rape in it to boot. At least they included Black Hole.

Beck was ignored...sigh...
Most of the titles on there are subjective and are aimed at the teenage girl audience that just got a boom.

Are they in any paritucular order? Nana has grown on me so much since the first chapter, although I think there are better nominations than Crimson Hero. Meh, whatever.

Seems to be arranged by last name, alphabetically.

Just to chime in -- I'm one of the librarians on the committee this year. It's great to see coverage for the list and hear what all you fans have to think. I wanted to point out one thing -- we can only nominate/consider titles that are published after September 2005, and we have to read a title before we nominate it, so that may explain some of the absences of titles and delays in nominations. Still, we have a whole year to nominate, so I'm sure the list will grow in diversity as time passes. Anyone may nominate titles, but we would especially like to hear from teens -- so if there's a title you think definitely belongs on the list and appeals to teens, please nominate it!

Oh after 2005. I was just going to say, "what about Fruits Basket?" I mean, that's North America's number one seller. That explains quite a bit.
