I visited Fred at the hospice he's residing in some weeks ago. He is fairly lucid, and the only thing that is letting him down is his physical condition. We talked about the state of animation this year, and he told me about what he thought was good and not so good this year. I think he would not be unhappy if someone dropped by and lent him DVD's of the latest releases to watch. He does get out and about, but that's through the kindness of local fans (like his appearance at Glendale.)
