Oh for God's sake! My Ep. 3 joke was the exact same thing as that Ep. 4 joke! How the hell do you determine the difference between the two?

And what was wrong with the one about the Nerf bats? That was one of my friggin' classics! And the white stockings after labor day? One of'em could've at least gotten runner-up!

Ah forget.

Either way, the joke didn't win, so there's no reason to be angry. And I'm sure he had several thousand Star Wars jokes to choose from. He probably just put them all in a hat and let his cat pick one.

I saw his first.

Also, complaining about who won and you not winning and your captions being comedy gold = kinda lame, dude.

I think the thing about Howl's Moving Castle on DVD is that the Japanese release date for the Region 2 DVD was just on Wednesday, and there is almost certainly a Tokuma-ordained lag time between the Region 2 release and the Region 1 release to combat reverse importation.

We'll see how much For Your Consideration campaigning Disney does, but Howl doesn't have nearly the same degree of critical momentum as Spirited Away had, and, as you said, Academy voters have pretty short memories when it comes to limited release films released in the first half of the year.

"That's right ! It's Viz Media's Saikano box set! 13 episodes of hyper-depressing, wrist-slittin' emo fun!"

Emo? Ew. Now I'm sure I don't want to buy Saikano... Razz

Saikano is the happiest show this side of Grave of the Fireflies and it is a guarenteed cure for depression. You'll either realise your life is not that bad or you will commit suicide. Either way, depression cured.

All the Best,

Nani?

I thought this weeks contest was pretty funny better then last weeks I thought. Though I was expecting a joke about lesbians or star wars to win when I saw the picture but I thought it was good choice. This week caption contest is tough one for me to think of a good joke...there are lame ones but can't think of any ones that would really make Zac laugh. Oh well that's why it's a contest and contests are always fun with challenges...good luck to everyone.
On a side note I never seen the X artbox before...never what did it look like anyone know? Also, I kind of hate when they bring out artboxs afterwards when people bought the show already...what they should do in my opinion is after they have the series on dvd they should sell the artbox seperate of the dvds...that's probably what I would do anyways.

Yu Gi Oh Duelist has gotten up to vol. 10 in the U.S., which would be the equivalent of 18 in Japan. Howl's been announced for "spring 2006". And actually, there was a recent article at The Hollywood Reporter about Howl being distributed by Disney as a copy-protected "screener".

Really? This is the first time I came up with anything I was actually proud of... and several, to boot (a total of ten of varying quality, though I'm not sure if the dorkier jokes will make Zac laugh more at their dorkiness, or laugh less at their dorkiness, I'll just have to see). Maybe I'm just odd, though. Wink

ADV has sold a few empty artboxes in the past. Like for Excel Saga. But I couldn't get one before they were all snatched up.

Then again, $10 for an empty box DOES seem a bit much. Laughing So maybe it's for the best...

I love it when they come with the series, but I really wish they'd do it for the last volume as a treat for fans, or on... I dunno, the second volume. Then the first volume's cheaper, but volume 2 has cool stuff with it. Or maybe I've stopped making sense, since it's pretty late here and I really did mean to go to bed. Laughing

IMO, the BEST artbox release ever? Witch Hunter Robin. Not only was it a pretty nice box that came with volume 1, but dude...! It came with the soundtrack, a t-shirt, a lovely shotglass, and two collector's cels (one of which I actually really, really liked)! Very Happy

If I hadn't been told the series was so good, caught a later episode that had a nifty plot twist, I wouldn't have thought to get it... but what really cinched it?

The artbox with volume 1, yo!!! I figured the nice box and the soundtrack ('cause I did know the music was pretty good) and the shotglass alone were worth it. And they were. Very Happy

But my dad broke the shotglass. Sad Now I can't find a replacement one! I think it was an LE shotglass or something. Crying or Very sad And it was pretty, too...

Nope your not the odd one by any means if you read some of my other posts on this website I've stated quite a number of times jokes and I don't get along. I've never been good with humor sometimes it takes me a while to realise if someones joking or not. So don't think of yourself as odd.

And as far as the empty boxset for excel saga...never knew about that. But I do think $10 dollars is a bit price depending on the artwork on the box and the quality of the materials the box is used with. If let say they just had the name excel saga on the empty art box and the rest was just a solid color there'd be no way I'd pay $10 for it. And if the artbox is done nicely then I'd look to see if the artbox would get ripped easily(not testing it of course but I can normally tell if something I'm going to buy won't last for long.)

Considering how Lucas has mucked-up alot of the Star Wars Continuity for his own gains (Greedo Shooting First, the whole "Midochondria" theory, etc.) I would guess the caption was trying to make fun of Lucas messing around with Star Wars by repalcing Skywalker and Darth Vader with Female Chaarcters.
