This was "announced" a while ago.
I put "announced" in quotations because it was in a press release regarding the Capsule Monster Chess toys that nobody cares about. |

Dude, get over yourself. It's not like you get a prize if you get credit for reporting news. Anyways... Holy shiznits! What IS this? Hm, it's kinda weird to have this air before (most) people knew about it; I mean, does 4Kids have the rights or whatever to just randomly create a new series like that? It looks very "Yugioh! the Movie." And I think that everyone will agree with me that 4Kids should have learned their lesson from that experience. |

I first heard of this over at the Anime on DVD forums, and it looks like that it's probably based on the Capsule Coliseum game based on the description, if such a title existed. Since TRSI is currently taking pre-orders for the first volume, it looks like the rumors about the show's existence are true.

The news had been floating around for over a week, I'd been waiting for comments from 4Kids that whole time, and they only got back to me today to day "Sorry, we aren't ready to comment on this yet."
Which is fine, they have every right to take their time and to not comment, but it makes it hard to properly provide information to our readers. Obviously getting the full story is more important than getting it first, but sometimes the delays involved in trying to get the full story become a nuissance. We've recently begun discussing a way to work around this that will help us meet both goals of getting news out fast, and getting out reliable news. -t |

Well there's probably not a chance for that movie to come..the series is over; 4Kids loves to create new series to cause confusion. x.x I've known this for over a week..wow. I have only Ep. 3 and 4 in my comp and I love their new outfits. I love the Can Can!!! Ep. 3 Jou - Hey we just won a fight. Honda - Victory Dance! Jou and Honda - We just kicked a little can can, kicked a little..*pants* Anzu - So what exactly was that? The link is incorrect. 4Kids is not releasing the first Yugioh movie on DVD in the U.S. The first movie is only 30 minutes and not long enough for a single DVD release in the U.S. The first movie also takes place during the first Yugioh series, which was never dubbed in English, so it wouldn't make sense contiuity-wise for 4Kids to dub it. Unless by some curse, 4Kids decides to dub the first series, don't count on them ever licensing the first movie. Yugioh: Capsule Monsters is an American-made production where 4Kids created the storyline and new characters themselves, but hired the Japanese animators to produce the animation for them, like they did with the second Yugioh movie. Personally, I think 4Kids is exteremly stupid for creating their own Yugioh series. Yugioh isn't even popular anymore and their original movie was a complete failure in U.S. theaters. Do they honestly believe this is going to make a profit? With 4Kids losing their rights to Pokemon and their problems licensing the rest of Tokyo Mew Mew, they're obiviously desperate for some money here. I just know for sure that I'm not going to watch this. I'm glad that I decided to stick to reading the manga a long time ago, but I guess this is better than 4Kids screwing up more of the Japanese version.
