About damn time.

Hopefully they'll have a showing near Greensboro, NC.

Could work, if the MST3K crowd doesn't have a field day with it. Rolling Eyes

This was expounded upon at Katsu.

When I first heard of it, I thought "Wow, this is a really stupid idea." Now it's beginning to filter through my grey matter and I become more and more intrigued. I probably won't kill myself to see DBZ, but they're also doing some series premieres, and that may be worth going to.

I still say this is a bad idea. FUNimation Films in itself isn't *entirely* bad, but DBZ, while still popular, isn't as *ridiculously* popular as it was during the Cell Saga; Buu took its toll on viewers, despite how intensive the battles were. FUNimation will most likely take a loss on this showing; if the concept of 'FUNimation Films' does indeed last until the premiere of "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala", then things will get interesting.

Apparently, the viewers at Jump the Shark still think the show never jumped.[/url]

I'd rather not let thirty one people speak on behalf of the thousands of former DBZ fans who turned into bashers, especially since the "Buu Saga" isn't one of the valid choices and we have no idea on whom gets the opportunity to vote in that poll.

Hey, I'm also part of the MST3K crowd. I riffed the hell out of Revenge of the Sith with my friends. Hell, we even like to do it with much of the anime we watch (including DBZ)...

I think this may possibly work, especially if they get the FMA movie into theaters sometime before the DVD release. My God, that would draw in people....

Only if Deadhorse Beating Z doesn't screw it up first.

I'm still sticking to my guns in that FUNi should've opened with something completely new and take a risk. It how people love Indie Films; it's spontaneous, it's off-the kilter, and it doesn't adhere to some mold like DBZ.

While there are probably better movies Funi could've picked, I think it might be fun to see 30ft Super Saiyans throw down for an hour or two. Provided they don't spend the first hour powering up. Razz

Blah blah blah keep whining you haters. Hating and bashing on DBZ won't make it go away, or affect it for that matter.

I just hope that enough people support this, so that Funimation continues releasing more on the big screen.

I'd say the only way that these films can make money is if FUNi's able to buy a PG 13 rating. Because if they're rated R, they will disappoint. But even then, that's not a guarantee. If they really wanted to make money, they should have released them theatrically when DBZ was at its most successful. The Naruto movies are more likely to be bring in the bling at this point. There's still hope for FMA though.

*looks up Landmark Theaters*

Well crap. Only 2 within a hundred miles, both in the city of Chicago. I'm not going all the way out there for a couple DBZ movies I saw years ago.
