Damn. He was one of my favorite seiyuu ever, and I'll always remember him as Saitou Hajime. He had such a gallant sounding voice and was always a joy to listen to in any role. I'm really gonna' miss him Crying or Very sad.

Rest in peace Suzuoki-san.

Oh my god. His role as Raven/Virus was created specifically with him in mind by Masami Obari with an eye to Shiryu/Saint Seiya. ANN picked Bright Noa as the example of his work? He's Tenshinhan! And Shiryu. Wow. He was one of my favorites, but he's hopefully in a better place now.

So now one wonders if this may have been part of replacing the Seiya cast in the latest installment. If he were too ill to work, the animators might have decided to review the entire cast.

Damn that is young. Of course by our standards.

Though I was never a fan of any 'Gundam' series, I do remember the character. I say thank you for all you've done and R.I.P. May you never be forgotten to all the fans that loved your work. Crying or Very sad

Don't forget he also voiced the hilarious Tatewaki Kuno in Ranma 1/2.

That's where I mostly remember his voice from, as well as Saito Hajime, and Tenshin-han.

He was also one of my favorite seyuu. I hope he rests peacefully and that his family is well.

Me and my sister... we started crying when we heard.

Suzuoki Hirotaka was definitely one of the seiyuu we really respected and loved. We had no idea that he was ill. He is the greatest seme in the world (I don't think he's ever played anyone's uke) and our Shiryuu. He was our Tenshinhan and Hidetoshi from Ginga Nagareboshi Gin... and he appeared in Hyakumonogatari, as well. (It'll take a long time before I can hit Tenshinhan again when playing our Dragon Ball games.) We will really miss him and his wonderful acting, and he will always remain as one of our favourites.

Really? How interesting! I thought he was like a mix of Shiryuu and Iason from Ai no Kusabi... (played by Shiozawa Kaneto... eerie)

Sad Kuno, Noa, and Saito are three of my alltime favorite anime characters, in large part due to the voices he gave them. He really was one of the best. He'll be sorely missed.

Oh damn. I loved his voice, and he really made the characters he played alive. Ivan Konev and Saitou Hajime are among my favorite characters ever. May he rest in peace.

It's very sad that one of my very fave seiyuu died. Me and the other Captain Tsubasa fans will remember him as the 'Tiger', Hyûga Kojirô.

I cried when I read it, and my tears are still falling down my face.

Rest in peace, Suzuoki-sama Crying or Very sad

Well shit. Seems like natural progression is taking away all of the older VAs I seem to like a lot. Curse you, disease/old age/other causes of death!

Rest in Peace.

I was thinking that as well. The average living span has increased a lot over the years.

I would have liked to hear him as Bright Noa in the Gundam series. Bright Noa was the ideal captain in the Gundam series. I have heard him a little in Rurouni Kenshin as Hajime Saito. He perfectly portrays him as cynical, cold, and cool-headed. It is a great loss.

Rest in Peace.
