I'm guessing DVD as usual.

Although I wish Pokemon USA would make a push to get the Lucario movie into theaters. If Pokemon ever made it's way back into cineplexes, the Lucario movie would definitely be the one to go with.

Maybe Funimation Films can help them out.

I think it's safe to say that Pokemon movies are becoming the Japanese equivalent to The Land Before Time, in that "Oh god, they just keep coming!!" sense.

Which is sad for both titles . . . well mostly for Land Before Time. The first movie was excellent and my favorite movie as a child. Then it all just went down hill.

I don't see an encyclopedia entry for the Pokemon manga though. I see one for Dengeki Pikachu but I know that's already come out in the US.

I noticed that ANN didn't mention the Pokemon Party of the Decade held earlier this month in New York's Bryant Park. Oh well it was only the tenth anniversy of Pokemon festivities hosted by Hulk Hogan.

Hmm, which Pokemon manga is it that's being released? Pocket Monsters Special had been released as Pokemon Adventures, but only though volume 7--it's currently at 18 or so in Japan. Would be nice to have the rest of that in English, but it didn't sell well, despite being far better written than the anime ever hoped to be, and was closer to the games to boot. Dengeki Pikachu and Magical Pokemon Journey (whatever the heck its original title was) were also released here. I sincerely hope that this won't be that one with a shonen-style Clefairy. Urgggh. Clefairy and toilet humor should not mix. There are a few shorter series (i.e. Ash and Pikachu) and one shots (i.e. Pokemon Zensho), but this sounds like a longer series, which would have to be Pocket Monsters Special or straight-up Pocket Monsters, the one with that constantly abused Clefairy. With my luck, the latter. Alas.

Don't hate it, embrace it. I think that the Pokemon VAs are really the only VAs in American-dubbed anime that have such a following, when they get fired everyone cares.

That and... they are much better then the new ones. Laughing

Maybe the Pokemon manga they refer to is... the Pokemon Special Battle Frontier manga? Which would be REALLY swell (I love Pokemon Special~), but I'd way rather see the Fire Red/ Leaf Green manga... I guess I'm just prejudiced against Emerald, seeing as I've grown up with Red, Green, and Blue...

This all excites me. Dang, the whole 10th anniversary shmeal, with all the events and news, seems to have really brought Pokemon back a bit in the U.S. (Though I guess it's business as usual in Japan.)

...You mean like Doraemon? But seriously, 1) Japan has a TON of other kids' anime that are much more long-ingrained in their culture than Pokemon, 2) Pokemon is still REALLY POPULAR in Japan, and 3) It's actually getting better. Jouto League was a low point, but with Advanced Gen and now DP, it's even better than it started off.

Is the pokemon manga any good? I might consider getting it (even though I got out of pokemon years ago). I also heard that in the original manga Ash is perverted and there's a lot of fan-service. Let's hope Viz doesn't edit it.
