It's just a gallery. None of those skins are functional. It will take a while before we can even start looking into porting those to the new layout. -t |

It's nice to be able to switch back a blue skin, that Red color for Coyote Ragtime Show was too much. thanks

Is there a gitch in the new skins format. Because everytime I chose a classic ANN skin I go back to the Coyote Ragtime skin when I chose a different page.

Although I really like Coyote Ragtime Show and all, I like the blue theme much better. Thank you for making it available.
Also, I like the fact that we can look through past skins. If you could make those available for actual us, that would be great. Especially the Naru Narusegawa one.

Unfortunately making the old skins, as they are, available is an impossibility. They're coded for a completely different version (new scripts, using a completely different database) of the site which we no longer update. Adapting them, at least somewhat, for the new site will be possible, but as I already stated, we won't be doing that for a while. -t |

I think I'm in the minority in that I actually like the Coyote Ragtime skin, I like the darker color and it's much nicer aesthetically. It helps I run at 1280x1024 as well, I can see how a smaller resolution might be to compressed. The standard blue is just a little .... bland.

Well, I like the blue theme better. Besides that blue > red, it was tiresome having the whole background be an ad.

I don't mind having the background being an ad, though I do agree that blue is better than red. The problem is when it's an ugly (the fuccons) and obtrusive (CRS) ad that takes over the site to the point that it's almost unusable. I personally don't like red, but I did like the characters pasted into the background. However, with the ad background as large as it was (and not taking into consideration anyone but those on the largest of monitors) the site itself wasn't really user friendly anymore. The standard links were covered up and squished together and the news blocks were about 2 1/2 inches wide with only a few words of text per line. The ANN staff corrected this for us, even though they didn't have to, by giving us a choice in backgrounds. Though I kind miss the "mascot" characters in the ad. They were cute. |

Well, I sometimes like blue more than red, but not the dull, sterile doctors office/bathroom tile style blue that is used. The resolution though really does make a difference, I think that was the number 1 complaint. It looks fine at 1280 though. Of course, I can't stand using anything under 1280, so it all comes down to preference. I hope they get some good themes up soon.

the CRS background works fine on my 1280 resolution, and I like now dynamic it is, so I'm keeping it for now....I like the blue one a lot too, though. ^^
It's fun looking through the gallery, too. It really shows how nicely done the new layout is in compaired to the old one, though--this one feels a lot less cluttered. |
