Makes me wonder how many clues there are really. I tried to make a list of clues that avoided repeating itself which I've noticed in the podcast. Unless there are clues that are ridiculously subtle.

I'm all for interesting ways to announce a title. A lot of my favorites getting licensed lately seem to be having it with Sgt. Frog, Haruhi, and now this.

In after desu, hahaha. Oh, wait, there won't be anymore desu in the English dub; such a pty. 
Such a pity for fans of the show in question; much of the joke fodder gets robbed from the English dub and Geneon will likely hire out Bang Zoom! Entertainment to handle it, which means we'll have ear-bleeding QUALITY voice acting for English as well. >_>; Seriously, why not aquire Higurashi instead? At least the popularity of Higgy is due to its own merits and not because of some silly 'memes'. |

Since "no one has submitted a full list of clues" yet, it has be curious again about what's supposed to happen when you submit your entry. Is there supposed to be some kinda confirmation page? Because I, & I know others as well, were just returned to the contest page with the fields blank again. It had me wondering if my entry went through at all.

If they were only trying to sell it to 4chan regulars, you'd have a point. But they don't, so you don't. In fact, I'd be suprised if anyone at Geneon knew of this fairly obscure desu-meme. It certainly isn't the next AYBABTU. Oh well, it's Rozen Maiden... that's what counts

Well that was an easy one to figure out, but now I need to go get some Nanoha figures after hearing that. And I like that GUN X SWORD theme they had at the beginning.
What the Hell, man. It's totally Saint October.

I made my guess, and since I wanted to be done quickly, I sent what clues I could figure out. I actually woke up last night and thought about at least 3 more clues I should have included, ROFL.
Oh well, I'll just be happy if I was right. I doubt that I could resend my answer with an updated clue list. I had submitted 9 things that I thought were clues. |

While true that the 'desu meme' hasn't leaked into mainstream internet culture like other Yotsuba gags such as "O RLY", almost every /b/ in existence, including the board on Futaba and even some posters on 2ch, are aware of and propogate the 'meme'. Additionally, it's been going on for years, such that even I knew about it before ever stepping foot into Yotsuba's /a/ or /b/. If anything, that annoying phrase has agitated or enticed enough people to actually watch the show, massively contributing to the show's percieved popularity. I know an individual like myself who hates shows that feature modern-day losers (such as NHK ni Yōkoso or Genshinken) actually tried to watch spoiler[_____ _____] ,but it was so disgusting poor I couldn't get past a couple episodes.

Terek, I think you need to realise that they're picking this up to sell on it's own merits or to people who might want it or maybe a plethora of other reasons, not because 4Chan decided to pick up 'desu' and slap it everywhere over and over again.
*Edit* it's kind of retarded, I mean it's ALMOST like saying that FUNimation are doing the new DBZ sets because "IM CHARGIN' MAH LAZER" is funny and/or popular. |

Well, if they keep things consistent with their other spoiler[Peach-Pit-adapted title (DearS),] then they would give this to New Generation Pictures which would likely turn out pretty good at the very least. I have no problems with Ocean in Vancouver or Calgary either.
I can't speak for everyone else, but I did really enjoy spoiler[Rozen Maiden] on its own merits and though it was an excellent, entertaining series. Frankly, I have never gone to 4chan at all, so I wouldn't know about any of its "memes". spoiler[The "desu" is just a little character quirk they gave Suiseiseki. Why make such a big deal out of it (and not Hinaichigo's "nano" or Kanaria's "kashira"?)] EDIT: Are we still suppose to pretend we don't know what this is? Ah well, I spoiler tagged as to not "ruin the surprise". |

The only thing that will surprise me about this is that it took this long for it to be licensed.
I've always believed that a license announcement for any anime is not a matter of if but when and this is no exception. |
