You know, I read on Mainichi that it was called Comic Gumbo, but the official website has "Ganbo" in katakana. I guess it can go either way.

I want to know about that series with the costumed mustache man Laughing

The thing is that Japanese doesn't have near as many vowel sounds as English, so ガンボ ("ganbo" - pronounced something like "gah-m-bo", which really is pretty close to "gumbo") is the closest you can get in Japanese. If you went with グンボ ("gunbo") instead, it'd be pronounced something like "goo-m-bo".
