Ooh I didn't know this one was out.
And I enjoy the story a lot- but am I reading it right when they say it ends in 4?

Yup. It was only four volumes long. I'm pretty sure it was cancelled. Weekly Shonen Jump is ruthless.

I think it's out next week?

I've actually been enjoying Zombie Powder. Sure, it's got it's weakness and I won't argue about anything in the review (haven't read 3 yet), but it keeps me entertained. I think it's biggest plus definitely is that it's inventive - you really don't know what's coming next (tiger from the hat?). It's interesting to see how Tite's got a lot of these favourite ideas that he just really wanted to do but they don't carry much further than the original idea - but I'm really glad he got them out of his system before Bleach. Like, Wolfina suffocating someone with her impossibly large breasts, I swear if that joke wasn't in Zombie Powder we'd see Orihime or Matsumoto doing it.

But then again I'm in the aforementioned category of "Kubo completists" aka fangirls.

Yeah, I'm a pretty big Kubo guy myself. And I must say I really am enjoying Zombie Powder even if there are far better titles out there. It's at least an entertaining, fun little read anyways.

I have to say I do agree: It's definitely a "turn your brain off and enjoy" series, which are always pretty fun for me.

As someone who shamelessly loves formulaic shonen, Zombie Powder has been a title I'm really enjoying. I don't like it nearly as much as Bleach but I love Kubo's style (it's so...cool) so I'm happy to give Viz my money for this one.

March 6th. I was hoping my Borders would have it out early but once again it seems they've decided to abide by the release date.

Ain't it just. I love his action scenes, ZP is still a bit rough compared to Bleach but there's plenty to gawk at. Other than breasts, too.

I held out for a while because of the first GN review here on ANN, but then I was in my local comic shop browsing and I couldn't find anything else to buy so I decided to give it a go - it's only got four volumes so what can you lose. And I'm glad that I did, I infinitely prefer it to O-Parts Hunter (aka 666 Satan) for example that I got approximately the same time.

Well, considering it's Kubo's first ever series, I didn't really expect it to be nearly as good. But considering it was Tite Kubo himself nonetheless, I really did want to try it out. And I must say, it's actually pretty impressive for a first-timer, although about as good as I expected. It has most of the ingredients that makes a good Kubo series, even if it is a little rough, and I really like that about it.

Actually, my local Barnes & Noble where I get all my manga from had it in a couple of days ago. Which is weird because they usually get stuff in late rather than early. Like I still haven't seen vol. 6 of Claymore yet or vol's. 11 or 12 yet of FMA, Neither have I seen D.Gray-Man vol. 4 or Busou Renkin vol. 4, and Bleach vol. 17 just barely came out yesterday. But then again, Naruto vol. 13 and Black Cat vol. 7 came out the same day as ZP did as well. Weird. Confused

Actually found this to be more enjoyable than Bleach.
The beginning of Bleach seemed more the typical, dull shonen fare, while this early work seemed to have quirky humor. Love the chainsaw sword and the mullet. I do enjoy the more recent Bleach storyline with the little odd girl, but I'd look forward to more of Zombie Powder if Bleach ever ended.

I was liking it, until this volume. It went from Hokuto No Ken/Trigun wannabe to One Piece wannabe. *sigh* Haven't read the short, yet, though, but I could see why the series was cancelled. I'll stick with Black Cat, I guess.

I believe this ran in Young Jump, not Shonen Jump.
