Yeah, they might. I hadn't realized it was April Fool's Day this Sunday, so I was a bit mad with myself for not finishing Eureka Seven on the Fix last night (I thought it was going to be on all week like last weeks, damn inconsistent AS). Side note, I've had that episode of FMA and GitS recorded since last year, funny stuff!

Dammit, if they f*** up these episodes, I'm just turning off my TV and going to bed. I can't stand when AS does that.

I f***ing hate April Fool's Day!

I hate it too, generally I hate all festivals, you should be charitable and eat heartily and treat all born homosapiens as full persons all year round, I'm a materialist strong atheist and I also dislike the ludicrous consumerism. Finally, playing jokes on other people sucks, they're actually screwing up TV programming (not as bad as slipping and breaking your neck on a banana, but it is unnecessary to place fart noises and other juvenility in programming, it's not going to save a woman from an abusive partner, or provide a starving individual with water and food is it, I fail to see how it is a preferable option to offering an un-fart-enhanced actual show for people to watch and enjoy.)

No way. The anime block got burned last year for being on April Fools. This year, Sunday is April Fools, and they're setting up for that with the fake Aqua Teen Movie airing. Why mess with the anime block tonight? Especially since all they're doing to Sunday's comedy block is (probably just) faking the airing of a movie that all but "the slow" realize is a prank (or so I thought when I originally wrote this).

I won't watch if they do some April Fools bullshit tonight. I hate that holiday more than any, and I make it known every year to my writing group by making at least one character be shot in the face and killed for doing an April Fool's joke. Yeah, harsh, I realize.

Anyway...

Anyone know what is replacing Gunslinger Girl next week on IFC? Will Gunslinger Girl be rerunning?

Oh, and UtenaAnthy, all of my feelings exactly.

EDIT: Bleach is not airing. In its place: Perfect Hair Forever. One of the worst shows I've ever had the dishonor of watching. Thanks a lot, Adult Swim.

Way later EDIT: Just wanted to clean this up a little.

It looks like you guys were right, the anime block went bye bye. I'm watching [as] right now and "Perfect Hair Forever" is airing instead of BLEACH. Weird thing is, my cable box says that BLEACH is supposed to be airing right now. Anime hyper

Ugh, I was "fooled" by their decision as well. I was all ready to watch Bleach, but instead I get to watch some of Adult Swim's comedy garbage. My Dish's guide says Bleach is supposed to be airing as well. Oh well, just another way to show that [as] really doesn't care about their anime fans...

Agreed. AS constantly pick at their anime fans, and then complain when people don't watch.

EDIT: I cut off my berserk ramblings, because they're horrid to look at and I was obviously furious out of my head when I wrote them.

Perfect Hair Forever, a show dedicated to making fun of anime, made by Mike Lazzo, the president of Adult Swim who has admitted he hates anime. Starring Kim Manning, Adult Swim's main anime licenser.

SpikeTV needs to make more anime co-productions. So I can laugh at Adult Swim while they whine about anime not getting good ratings while stuff like Afro Samurai tears up Nielsen boxes.

The worst part is that Perfect Hair Forever is an *extremely* poor anime parody. It doesn't resemble anime in any fashion, and is mostly just filled with the stock animals from the other Adult Swim shows.

I didn't much like Afro Samurai, but I was thrilled that it received such high ratings. I would hope that SpikeTV explores more anime, perhaps some longer series, in the future. Maybe we'd be fortunate enough for them to pick up the new Hellsing or something.

I loved Afro for what it was, a big, stupid pile of action, innuendo, and Samuel L Jackson. But Spike in one month shattered what Adult Swim had been saying for 4 years, anime can't get ratings.

Perfect Hair Forever, on the other hand, is still awful. It's not even a good anime parody like I dunno, that one episode of South Park "Good Times with Weapons." It's just Mike Lazzo and Kim Manning going "LOOK AT US! WE HATE ANIME! CAN'T YOU SEE HOW MUCH WE HATE ANIME! I MEAN, WE REALLY HATE ANIME!"

God! I HATE AS or AS(S) as I will now refer to them. They piss me off! They used to be good to anime but now it's apparent they're now run by a bunch of drunken, stoned college frat boys who think ANIME SUX Evil or Very Mad I'm tired of them pissing on us anime fans!

I am so glad their forum crashed as a result of this. As for the movie promo stunt they pulled; I'm now glad that they got in trouble. Couldn't happen to nicer people! I hope they get into serious trouble for this also, but they probably won't because it's anime.
