Tekkon Kinkreet, a 600+ manga for around $20, count me in. And seeing as how the film didn't exactly get a great marks from Justin I might just have to be contend with the manga for a while.

I'm looking forward to this. Thats the perfect way to release a sort of obscure series.

Delta: Technically, it's $30. The pre-order's $20, though.

And everyone knows what GX is, but no one cares. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! It's one of the finest manga ever written (in my not-so-humble opinion). I'm even considering picking it up, even though I already own the original three-volume release titled Black & White. I hope they don't use a new translation, because I love the dialogue in the original release.

I'm going to see the movie this Sunday, so it'll be interesting to see for myself how it'll compare. Maybe I'll like it more than Justin did. There's no question that the source material is a masterpiece, though.

I am glad they finally announced Muhyo and Kurohime. I wish they would license Neuro though. Sad

Viz has reused the dialogue from every other series they've re-released, even when it probably could have used a spitshine (like the first volume of Maison Ikkoku), so I think it's pretty much guaranteed it'll see print with the old dialogue intact.

Second that vote for Neuro.

Muhyo started out episodic, and carried itself for a while on sheer oddness of the design work, but once the story gets moving it became a really good book.

How long does it stay episodic? I was unimpressed by the first two chapters but I thought I'd give it another chance. I just don't want it to be like Reborn where it doesnt get good until volume 8.

Faster than that, yeah. (I gave up on Reborn after volume 5...)
Looks like the ongoing narrative starts in the second half of volume 2.
Not sure where it went from good to awesome, though.

Same here. $20 for 600 pages is quite the bargain indeed. Just ordered Tekkon from Amazon myself.

Thats good to know. I am so glad there are so many good jump series coming out: Muhyo, Hoshin engi, gintama, pretty face, etc. I just want more though. Sad

Awesome! I've been interested in checking out Muhyo since I learned about it from Jump Ultimate Stars. I wonder if they'll run a preview of it in Shonen Jump...

That might be a good place to put the original short story version. It was collected at the back of volume one as well, (or one of the early volumes, at any rate) but it was a better first glimpse of the series than the actual first issue.
It does have girl in a bra, though, so it might be too much for the hideously clean magazine.

Damnit. Viz got lazy and left it flipped.
