I know some people who are going to be mad, especially considering the ninth and tenth books are apparently a two-parter.

(And was someone playing around with the front page's CSS? >_>)

Are the novels even licensed yet? I would think that those would of been snatch up by Tokyo Pop considering that they've been releasing a fair amount of novels. And I'd have to think (as much as I like to think .hack/Zero is) that the MoHS novels have got to be the biggest unlicensed item.

I imagine they're in a bidding war, like Twelve Kingdoms was.

I think there's more to it than a simple bidding war. If you look at how the anime is being released, then you'll see that it's Kadokawa themselves that have brought the series over. Bandai is just a partner to help with production and distribution (I might be simplifying that a bit). Could Kadokawa be planning something similar for the novels/manga? I don't know, but it could explain why no company has gotten/announced that series yet.

Yeah more then likely that's what's going to happen, well that is according to the Otakon report from last year.

[Click link in quote to see report] Well this year is here I wonder if anyone has got the rights to distribute the manga/novels, I am sure there plenty of folks who wouldn't mind check out either medium type.

But they let Tokyopop grab Trinity Blood and Welcome to the NHK? Or maybe they changed their minds after that...
Interesting.

Well, TOKYOPOP has close ties with Kadokawa anyway, so them getting those titles is kind of a given. What's telling are the titles that TP hasn't gotten from Kadokawa yet. I'm not just talking about Haruhi, but Kadokawa's other big franchises... the "Blood+" and "Fate/Stay" series. You'd think that Fate/Stay would've come out when the anime did.
