As some of you may know, although the Prince of Tennis DVDs contain both the English and Japanese tracks, it still plays the American created TV opening/closing (as seen on Toonami/Jetstream), either way (on a personal note, including the original Japanese opening as an extra doesn't really help the issue).

Can anyone confirm as to whether or not this is the case with the MÄR DVDs?

MAR has the US opening and ending audio for both language tracks just like Prince of Tennis. Unlike Prince of Tennis, there is no clean version provided (yet?) of the opening or closings with the original audio.

And man the new audio for the opening is horrid. It's like a reimagining of the rappish DBZ opening from years ago except worse.

You must mean the one that goes, "DRAGON, DRAGON! ROCK THE DRAGON!! DRAGON BALL Z!!!" (has Funimation even included Cha-La Head Cha-La on any of their releases?).

Anyway, I just remembered something. Both PoT and MÄR come from Viz [Media]'s "Shopro Entertainment" division (unlike Hikaru no Go, which comes from the "Viz Video" part of the company*), so it really doesn't surprise me that the DVDs wouldn't have the original OPs (Rockman EXE doesn't, Gash/Zatch Bell doesn't, nor do the few Hamtaro DVDs they released).

*Long before the merger, Viz already had their own anime division, but some of you probably knew that...
