| I had no clue AnimEigo had even licensed a "new" anime title. I guess I was asleep last year when it happened. Anyway, if any of you guys pick up that DVD, I'd be curious to see how it is. |

| Yeah, if you blinked, you missed it. I was searching for Yawara and their site popped up - some "No way in hell we'd license this" contest or something. And yet it's been a year and their release date keeps getting pushed back - when they said they were making a Yawara announcement at Comic Con, I hoped I would be seeing a preorder date or something. I really want this series to come out and hope that it doesn't get shelved. |

| Damnit! I really really want this show and yet I am stuck here at work instead of getting Yawara. That really burns my noodle, and yet Animeigo all of us Urasawa are sitting here waiting to give you money for our preorders. Just make an announcement already, I wonder if AE will have them tomorrow.....I am going to need to call in a favor from my sister in SD. |

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I actually wasn't sure AnimEigo were still around. To think they once ruled the anime business...

Delta: Don't feel so bad. The samplers aren't meant for you, but for newbie fans who otherwise wouldn't know about the series. Think of it as creating demand for the box set.
Robin: Animeigo was always niche, even when the market was smaller. Anyway, they're doing fine through their live-action films, so at least they're not out of the game. |

| Can't find anything else on the website that tickles my fancy, I think I'll just pay the shipping. I'll probably really enjoy this seeing as Urasawa's suspense works have really captivated me. |

You guys are welcome. I thought ANN would have already reported it but I sent the news item in after an entire day after ANimEigo had posted it on their homepage.
I hate to admit this too, but now I'm piqued at this release, even though the animation style isn't that attractive. Something about classic anime always gets in hooked ... ehehe ...
I know I plan on sending in for one of these disks myself, just to check it out ... |

Whoa! I didn't know they licensed live action films too? I just thought they were just a small back player in anime only. Im surprised they're not belly up. But im glad they're not because they are part of anime history in the US.

Eh, I've seen only the first 12 or so eps when the VHS fansubs stopped back in the day. IIRC, this series was actually getting higher TV ratings than Ranma 1/2.
BTW, ya guys do know who the real Yawara-chan is and why the eyecatches have the days-countdown to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, yes? |
