| Huh, so CMX is trying to decide whether or not to translate Shin-Chan correctly or spice it up a bit. Tough decision. |

Damn. Waitin' 1-2 years for volume 11 sucks, but I hope it catches on better the second time around. I'm guessing it didn't do better, because the covers made you think it was an innocent care-free series like Family Circus. But the anime broadcast helped give the manga a new lease on life.

CMX is still deciding whether the best way to deal with the actual story would be to simply translate the original Japanese, or to re-write it in a way similar to how Funimation created an English-language script for the Shin Chan TV series. |
The former way, damnit, the former way! Other than an anachronistic reference to Britney Spears, and a few name changes based on the U.K. dub, the manga is fine the way C1 translated it. |

Definetly the former. With the anime, I can tolerate the script changes, like Bo^7, due to fact that Japanese jokes won't come across very well broadcasted, but with manga, you can easily have the japanese jokes in and explained the joke in side notes or something.
Someone, if no one I will, gotta email CMX and request them to stick with original script. |
