I don't get this channel, but I would like to hear what they have to say on the current state of the ADR/dub industry, considering everything that has been happening lately. Both competitors and clients alike.

You know that is a good point, we do talk about the business with a conscientious if not Objective points of views, and now that we are.... wait a second.... we made it to Anime Selects!?!?!!? Why am I the last one to know about these things!?!?!!?!?

I love the Anime Selects coverage of the Tokyo Anime Show. The other coverage in Japan is also fun, especially the fun Sake tour. I'm glad to see more original programming since VOD can't compete in picture and audio quality with DVDs, and I prefer subtitles. The original content (like Anime Network's Digital Dojo, and AX coverage) as well as the great studio tours (I love the Gonzo tour) are really good.

I'm big on Anime Selects, even over ADV's Anime Network. There seems to be a wider of variety shows I can watch. I've been watching Great Teacher Onizuka, Dominion Tank Police, Shingu, Escaflowne, and others, and sometimes the shows are even available subtitled.
I'm not, however, huge on the AnimeTV "talk show", which is largely a big kiss-ass fest for BangZoom productions with uncharismatic "reviewers" and an obnoxious Johnny Yong Bosch interrupting all the time. I honestly like JYB as a VA, but seriously, he needs to tone himself down on that show. Not that I watch it anymore - I quit after the second episode. |
