Memo for M-B: releasing a complete collection for $5 more than the price of 1 DVD 3 months after the final DVD comes out doesn't exactly give people incentive to buy single DVDs. And hasn't Midori Days already had the "Premium" and "Handheld" collections?

But I suppose it's a good idea to get the Princess Princess collection out before Christmas, so I can't fault them too much. The concept seems interesting enough for me to pick up the collection for $13.47 at TRSI sale price, at least. (I never saw the fansubs, so I'm not shamelessly waiting to pick it up as cheap as possible.)

Wow I thought the Handheld collection was the last one. o-o Weird..though guess it gives people a chance to get it if they don't have it.

Whoo gotta add that to my list. I haven't watched Princess Princess past 3 and it was really awesome so far. xD

I was coming here to observe something similar, as I have the four disc "box" set of Midori Days (or Midori No Hibi if you prefer) sitting right here on my DVD shelf. I think I got it on sale at Rightstuf a while back for like 20 bucks.

I kind of wonder if part of going subonly is to make these collections more feasible......

I know when/if KashiMashi gets a cheapie collection, I'm not really going to mind since I got each disc for about 17 bucks each- it's really cheap to start off with, so I don't feel much of a burn. They please core fans with a quick release, and then do a cheapier release that is reallllly cheap, but only about 1/2 the price of getting them seperately [vs. the 1/3 of the total single price or so that Bandai+ADV's collections tend to be, say 6 30 buck dvds for 60 bucks] [edit- or I guess it works out to a little over a 1/3 if you're getting thme at full price- but most places are offering a slight discount, including retail stores]

I'm guessing that the Midori cheapie collection'll either be the discs in a thin cardostock box, or repackaged in a multidisc tray ala IRIA and the Twelve Kingdoms sets.

Yeah cool - I'm all for thinpacks and cheap prices!

I buy too much anime to buy the first presses normally... they really are far too expensive than they should be most of the time...

Very Happy Yay! Very Happy

I loved Princess Princess so much, but I'd already gone nuts buying other stuff and couldn't afford it. Good thing I had to wait, otherwise I would've paid 17$ x 3 instead of 18$ for all three! This is so sweet.
