It seems the dubbing work on The Second Barrage is continuing, so that at least offers some hope that it will be released at a later date. I'm really hopeful it does, I need more Black Lagoon!

Amen, brother! More Black Lagoon in English would most definitely be an awesome thing.

I must say though, I wasn't particularly fond of this series when I watched the first 3 episodes fansubbed a while back. But after giving this series a second chance in English, my opinion of this series has changed for the better. It's certainly a much more enjoyable series in English, and with each volume it does indeed become more and more rewarding of an experience. Someone better get on with distributing the second season, and fast!

I think the real victim in Geneon's demise is Black Lagoon. I don't think it will be too long before the second season is done, but a delay will probably be inevitable. I definitely found it to be vastly superior to the first. If you enjoyed the first three volumes, you'll be in for a pleasant surprise as the series gets more serious and adds a huge amount of depth to it's characters.

Glad to see that Shenhua maintains her accent. Ocean did a fantastic job on the first eight episodes, so I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

I'd be very surprised if the dub for Second Barrage was not complete.
Unless they pulled the plug sooner than they let on...

For me translation/dub really set this one apart.

Revy: ...Dutch, I know what I want for Christmas...

Well so do I.

So do I.

Man! I thought that was the greatest dub re-write ever! Definitely one of the better Ocean dubs in recent memory, and my hat is off to Tabitha St. Germain for her performance as Roberta. She seems to do crazy chicks pretty well, as I really enjoyed her as Flay in Gundam Seed.

I cracked up so hard when I first heard that.

How so? Both of its seasons, and other mainstream titles such as Hellsing Ultimate and Samurai Champloo should be easy picks up by other companies.

An Ocean representative posted on here that the dubbing for Second Barrage is complete. See this post.

The Second Barrage is coming, the only question is "when?". I just hope that whoever resumes the release gives The Second Barrage the steel case book like the first season. For the sake of consistency and all.

I love this series. In the years to come I hope we get a third season. I know I say that in every BL-related post I make, but I can't help myself.

I really enjoyed this series which succeeded in the ways Coyote Ragtime Show failed.

In a scene near the end Revy is called Rebbecca. If this is the case than shouldn't it be Reby which is how it's pronounced anyways in the Japanese track? Unfortunately the ED credits is replaced by English credits (I prefer when Geneon keeps the Japanese credits followed by the English credits after the last episode) so I can't confirm if the kana u" is used to denote a v.

If "Revy" is supposed to be an abbreviation of Rebbecca, then it does seem wrong. But it may just be pronounced "Reby" due to linguistic issues. I don't recall the details of the scene or if it was ever said that Revy was supposed to be an abbreviation. And nicknames, even when shortening the real name, can always take little twists. Who knows, maybe the nickname came about as a result of someone slurring her name while piss drunk or something.

I'm just glad Second Barrage will be done and with the same voice actors. I can wait longer if needed since I know it will be done. I just hope the second season will be as good as the first season has been.

I also need to pick up the third volume to see Revy and the gang deal with the terminator maid Roberta hehe. I always had a thing for maids but now I might have to rethink that. Roberta has kinda scared me away from them.

Not if the price is to high or the conditions suck.

I'd be right there with you if it had not been for the ADV marketing deal going south. I means someone is taking a hard line. If they are holding out for to much money, their titles could languish in license hell.
