It was voted by ANN readers as a "masterpiece" more than "excellent"

Razz

Merry Christmas, ANN.

The link to the 300kbs version gives me a "not found" page.

(Though I found that if you change the 350 in the url to 300, it works.)

Whoop, fixed now.

The episode is only available to North American viewers.

That's not right. I can watch it even though I live in Germany.

Can we "preview" the subbed version with Japanese dubbing?

Or is it "If you want the subbed version, go watch fansubs"?

I think it's more like "If you want the subbed version, buy the DVD"

I shall indulge this present with lots of love and uguu~ness! Cool

And wow, this is a solid dub and really makes me excite to go out there and own the first volume. I can't wait to relive this experience again.

Yeah, the region locking seems to be on a "self-restraint" basis, as I had no problems from Tokyo.

Of course, I am a potential purchaser of the ADV discs (either import or when I get back to the states), so I think it's appropriate for me to watch it.

I say potential, since actually just this episode was nothing interesting. At this point I'd need to see more at least to see why this show is at all interesting, and this episode alone doesn't answer that question.
A lot of people love this but I don't see why just from this episode at all.

Too late. Twisted Evil
Just sent out a tech support request to our streaming provider. We gotta take country blocking really seriously, as we don't want to get anybody in trouble over a nice xmas present. Smile

Right. But I recommend you give the dub version a whirl. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it; I'm not a moe fan, and I judge dubs pretty harshly, but I liked it to the point where I was well into the third episode before I went, "oh yeah... it's a moe from a visual novel..."

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Brittney Karbowski did a solid performance, as usual.

But, man ...those eyes.

I was one who voted it a masterpiece Wink

Good to see the show has lots of buzz, it's definitely worth the time, although I have yet to check out the dub.

Great to see ANN get on the free preview train, especially with such a popular series as Kanon. However, what is the view period, if any, on this "present" (in other words, how long will it be available until it is removed)?
