I just hope this gets picked up. I really want to see it. Of course, I doubt this one the Japanese will give without a fee(like has been reported), and the NA market isn't exactly in stellar shape. But I'll keep my fingers crossed.
If it does, I guess it would be ADV or FUNimation, I really don't mind either, but I think I would probably lean to ADV for this one. Another prospect would be a Manga/Bandai partnership, sort of along the same lines of GitS:SAC. I think that would end up being a very good looking product.
Anyway here's hoping. |

| Yeah, but aren`t the rights issues for other Macross series still a mess? Macross 7 never made it here, nor did the spell-binding Macross Zero. |

They are. But with this new series comes the hope that they can start off fresh.
For obvious reasons it would be advantageous to put old problems aside. 7 and Zero never entered the market, and thus never made any money. Now that they are old they are unlikely to be released. You would think they would put old grudges aside just to get a brand new version out there.
Don't get me wrong, I know it is a long shot, but that is why I said I am hoping. |

| The conspicuous absence of the UN-Spacy logo (replaced with the 'New UN Spacy', or as hilariously acronymed on the VF-171, 'NUNS') might be do with Harmony Gold being utter bastards with the rights to the original Macross designs. That's why DYRL, Zero and 7 have never received a release outside of Japan: the licensing costs to pay both the Japanese license holders AND Harmony Gold would be so astronomical as to make the venture unprofitable. |
