Negima!? was confirmed ages ago, but I'm not sure the OVAs were ever confirmed before.

You betcha! Yep series was confirmed ages ago. More Shinbo goodness. It's the reason why I am waiting for this version of Negima. The OP has been parodied too in another favorite series of mine, Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei.

Now no skimping on the translation notes, FUNi.

Initially, FUNimation stated they didn't have the OVA licenses, but I'm too tired at the moment to go look up the source.

I used to be able to take such things as sarcasm (I hope it was), but in this day and age there really are whiny little brats that think things like that =/

It wasn't sarcasm, most of their posts are like that.

It was brought up at Otakon:
Quote:
The Negima license covers the twenty-six episodes of the TV series only, not any of the OVAs.

Despite all the flak that the Xebec Negima adaptation got, I had no trouble watching through all of it on fansubs and getting the DVDs when they came out. On the other hand, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch more than 6 episodes of the SHAFT Negima series, despite the higher-quality animation. At least the OVAs are hawt Cool

Good to know they have the OVAs; would be better to know a release date. It's been almost nine months since they announced they had the series.
