Once again, you got Death Note wrong for Canada. The episode that will be airing this coming Friday - March 28th, will be Episode 22 "Guidance". We fell behind thanks to a Bleach marathon last week. The episode that aired yesterday (and repeating as I speak) if Episode 21 "Performance".

Additionally, you're also mistaken on Bleach. Since the little marathon which ended on Episode 52. YTV has once again restarted the series. I'm not sure if it's just for one night but given their past history of doing this, I'm quite sure it's a full restart. Besides, it wouldn't be Episode 56 airing either.

Just thought I'd make that aware.Smile

i found the last arc of Blood+ to be horrible, but that's just my opinion. man i wanna see the dub of Black Lagoon 22, it has probably one of the funniest dialog scenes of any anime i've seen.

With my luck, when I run around naked saying the apocalypse is nigh, it probably will have already arrived.

You know what else has just as little to do with anime as Frank Miller's 300 and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Transformers: Animated.

That Anime: Drawing a Revolution thing immediately disappointed me by calling Transformers an anime. Transformers isn't a Japanese cartoon.

Certainly the current 'Transformers: Animated' isn't, yet it gets included in The Click week after week nonetheless.

If you go by the Japanese usage of the word, anime, then yes, Transformers IS anime.

As for AS's new reaction to anime, I'm not surprised. I knew this was coming for a while. 1:30 in the morning, so that the ratings will turn out even worse, and they can finally use it as an excuse to get that serious shit off their station completely. It was a good run for those people/vampires like me that actually watched, I guess.
If that was the plan, it's not working. Sure, the ratings aren't terribly high, but it is anime that is leading the ratings on Saturday nights (namely Bleach) routinely over both Venture and Frisky Dingo, despite the ridiculously late broadcast times. And it has pretty much been that way since the schedule change that pushed the anime back.

In fact, relatively speaking, the ratings in the comedy slots on Saturday are down more than the ratings in the anime slots, compared to the way they were before the schedule change. (Though yes, both are indeed down.)

My general rule of thumb of whether something is "anime" or not is if it has an encyclopedia entry here on ANN. Even I'm not totally sold on the "Transformers as anime" idea, but there's an encyclopedia entry for it, so.

And what a great usage that would be, because then so is The Simpsons. And Baby Looney Tunes. And SpongeBob SquarePants. And King of the Hill. Etc., etc.

Transformers... a series animated in Japan (originally for American audiences; the series runs/ran in Japan too) based on an American toyline that was originally based on a Japanese toyline... my head hurts.

Great edition of "The Click" this week, as always. Anime smile

I can't wait to watch Code Geass! Yay!

Yeah, too bad your conspiracy theory is wrong. The people who run [AS] actually like anime, but to stay afloat, they need to play something that will bring them ratings, and seeing that most people who watch [AS] don't watch it for the anime, they had to drop the reruns on weeknights.

Yes, I am sorely disappointed, seeing as I wanted to watch Blood+ all over again (Riku is my favorite character), but better they do what they must to survive and keep more adult anime on the air than them to be gotten rid of and no anime they have be shown.

Also, to the Blood+ haters, SHUT UP. That's nice you don't like the second half or whatever, but I'm sick of hearing how bad it is. I don't go around saying how great it is and the second half is the best part, so I would appreciate the same in return.

I guess the decline in Anime in this country decreases the likelihood of the Anime Channel (Funimation Channel) actually appearing on another cable/satellite provider other than Verizon FiOS.

I know the syndicated block is available on Dish Network, but I want the whole channel not just selected programs from it.

Personally I believe that Blood + is a series with almost everything an anime should have and nothing it shouldn't. Blood + just didn't have the "It" factor like other great animes. If I would have known what I know now, I would have waited a year for all the DVDs to come out rather than watch one episode per week and forget what happened at the beginning of the series. While Blood + often had better episodes than Bleach before, I'm disappointed that I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. I would stop watching Adultswim if only the DVD companies would stop delaying releases, even though its the best economic decision.
