I'd be very happy if this is actually licensed. It's a really cute rendition of the Cutie Honey series, and could be released on one single cheap DVD... if only. Anime hyper

Who has the rights to this show? Adv?
maybe they're planning a boxset of some sort.

If only this had come up a few weeks ago; then I wouldn't have burned the episodes on to a disc. Oh well, I guess it will just have to count as dead space (assuming it actually is licensed).

Good. Seems the pressure is on now it seems.

I don't think there ever was a license announcement for 'Re:Cutie Honey'. I do remember at the time when 'Cutie Honey' the movie was announced for release that that the anime version would follow sometime later. It was never revealed as to "whom" licensed it.

My only guess that whoever it was would fall into 'ADV' territory. Never expected 'Funimation' to have some say. But whatever the case, I wish someone would hurry up and confirm if it was ever licensed and when it going to be released. It's already 4 years old now. Hurry up and release it already. I don't care who does it. I wouldn't even care if it was 'Bandai Visual USA'.

So?

When are they going to remove all the other shows they've been asked to remove? Last time I checked yesterday afternoon, everything I knew of as licensed was still on the site with a "licensed by (X), please remove" notice. I was shocked, I tell you. Simply shocked. That goes against everything they said they'd do. Rolling Eyes

Kind of surprised, considering Go Nagai isn't really big over here.

His women, on the other hand, are big ANYWHERE. ~_^

I just checked the encyclopedia and there's no entry for an U.S. license. So "Funimation" probably doesn't have the license.

Tornado: It's not in the Encyclopedia, because it hasn't been confirmed yet.

I still laugh that people are listening to the C&D letters over Romeo X Juliet even though FUNimation hasn't licensed it. If my understanding of legalese is correct, FUNimation has no legal standing to sue because they do not own the license to Romeo X Juliet, so the C&D letters from FUNi have no legal teeth behind them. The only ones with legal standing to sue are Gonzo, and they apparently aren't ready to do it. I don't even know if Gonzo's copyrights extend to the US under US law, so I don't even know if ANYBODY has the legal grounds to sue in the US over a fansub that hasn't been licensed by a US company.

Personally I think FUNi waited until it was getting near to the end of the series being fansubbed before sending out the letters. So people would buy the DVD's to see the ending. Unfortunately they forgot the cardinal rule of fansubbing. For every group you stop with a C&D, two will pop up in it's place.

Did you miss the part about FUNimation acting on behalf of Gonzo, at their request?

I Guess you've never heard of the Berne Convention then? The US and Japan have signed on to it since it's fruition.
