so this is just going to be a rehash with some new footage? disappointing.  i was hoping to get some additional closure on what happens to simon the wanderer. perhaps we would get to see the events that were unfolding at the very opening of the series? ah well... |

I think it's just a movie version of the beginning part until the part when Kamina dies. I'm still gonna watch it just because I love Kamina  |

Gainax is really like the Electronic Arts of the anime world. They are just in it for the money and they don't care about anything else.

Except that Gurren Lagann was a completely original project, that is amazing and hopefully doing very well everywhere, and that anime movies rehashing a tv series is not a gainax thing or even new whatsoever.
I'm not thrilled about the movie and it's impossible to say whether they are doing this for any other reasons than money(which, by the way, is the point of any business), but it's hard to damn the company right after TTGL, whether they try to milk it more or not, I don't really care. |

lol? They make a lot of very original anime and just because they're adding a recap movie to one of their more successful projects doesn't make them more detestable than other companies. I think you forgot the existence of Studio Sunrise that's milking the Gundam franchise for already 30 (!) years 
If they were so fond of making money with their works they would just jump on that slice-of-life-school-girl-train instead of putting effort in innovative projects.
I am disappointed about it being a recap movie. I was looking forward to an original story but what can you do... |
