A new anime project is news. The purpose of the anime maybe debatable  , but the existence itself of new anime is newsworthy.

That would require me to assume that Gackt deserves any respect. They might as well should have made a show about Mike Tyson's sparring partner, which was a tiger! For real! No lie! Someone tell me that isn't the concept of the century! |

I'm not sure what's more weird-- that the dog received a message from the Heavens, or that Gackt was able to figure that out.

C'mon people it's Gackt being talked about, one of the most eccentric personalities in the Japanese music scene. This is the same guy who claims that he has the ability to see and speak with deceased family members ever since a near death experience in his childhood, and at other times has claimed he is over 400 years old. Not to mention probably accounts for a significant portion of the Japanese hair dye market.
Just smile , nod and either move on, enjoy the wacky nature of the guy, or, if you're in his legion of fan girls, think this is most awesome thing either. Considering his involvement, the end product should be interesting. |

Some of the comments here are unbelievable. No Gackt did not say his dogs ghost told his other dog to go on a campaign against global warming. The dog is being used as a mascot for an anti-global warming campaign and that's the background story for the project.

Seriously. Gackt doesn't take himself as seriously as you people evidently do. Neither do Gackt fans. Gackt doesn't actually think he is a vampire. Gackt is also not the only weirdo to claim he can see dead people. He also hasn't talked about it more than a couple of times ever. But of course thanks to people who love to talk out of their asses, people are under the impression that this is something that gets brought up all the time.
According to the marketers that Gackt said "Go ahead" to. The dog is a CARTOON MASCOT for an ecological campaign. It's also going to be used as a mascot for CHILDREN'S STORIES promoting environmental awareness. This is NOT SERIOUS BUSINESS. You may now continue patting yourselves on the back for being 2 KEWL 4 GACKT. And a great big FU to ANN for feeling the need to report this and blow it out of proportion. Animu fans don't care about kiddie anime encouraging kids to recycle and crap. P.S.
lawl. Clearly you've never actually been to Japan, or even seen a large crowd of normal Japanese citizens. Everyone and their mom dyes their hair, because 95% of the population have the same black hair. They all want to look different. This isn't racism, this is the fact that Japan is primarily populated by Asians. NOW you can go back to feeling superior. |
