Somehow I have the feeling that the Funimation channel will go the way of TAN. It's a shame really, that anime struggles on TV in America.

Damn this really sucks. I didn't really watch it but I think anime can use all the advertisement it can get on Dishnet.

Also, I had always thought it would be cool to actually have TAN and Funimation channel myself after I graduated, but between the limited offerings and TAN folding up, it seems that it'll never happen. Crying or Very sad

I never had the channel, or any channels besides CN and Sci-Fi that even play anime, but I think the more exposure on TV the better the situations will be. Too bad this had to happen.

The Funimation channel has also been available 24/7 from Surewest (Sacramento area Fiber-to-the-Home triple-play provider) on their Digital Choice TV package and above since December 2006.

Urgh, I wish it still ran on KSCI's 4th digital channel in LA. Now that we've got our digital converter box, I would watch it often! And they've got it in Dayton, my hometown? Sigh...

it didn't go the way of the TAN, the TAN went on-demand only, the funimation channel is just plain failing

However, I said that I had a feeling that it will happen, not that it has. And TAN went to on-demand only because it was struggling too. A company doesn't just stop something if it's working.

A real shame. I was vacationing a few summers back in a place that carried Colours, so of course I wanted to check it out for Funi's block. That was where I got my first exposure to Kodocha, & because of that I bought all the DVDs of that series that Funi released (holding my breath for the rest of the series). So I owe that block a lot.

I'm glad that Colours actually put anime on, because I don't have an anime channel in my basic programming. I'll take any anime I can get. It was on at a who cares time and they were playing stuff that could be for a younger audience.

It was all old shows, so it's not a wonder that they would get rid of it. I need an all anime channel, dammit! A basic cable anime channel!

This isn't that big of a surprise to me. They repeated the same shows over and over again for months and they kept giving the FUNi block less air time. Sure, they aired Dragon Ball, but it's not going to attract many viewers if all they do is air the first 26-ish episodes of it and start all over again.

As time went by, it became more apparent that CoLours wasn't that interested in placing anime on their channel.

So...what's the point of people demanding 24/7 anime channels when no one is watching it...?

I wish I actually had the movie channels...I think I'm going to ask my godmother to order Starz... >.>;

I'm fine with anime airing on cable and premium channels; I usually find other anime on my own as well. Sucks for Funi; but unfortunately...

We don't have tons of anime companies that can license a bunch of anime at once...

x.x I still want someone to license Sayonara, Mr. Despair...

They always used to play the same Fullmetal Alchemist, DBZ, and Mr. Stain on Junk Alley (which I still can't find!) commercials. Every time I wanted to see Yu Yu Hakusho it was literally the exact same episode.
