Many have said that Haruka is basically one big Fushigi Yuugi ripoff. This is completely untrue. For starters, the high school girl who fell into a mysterious world was the Priestess of Suzaku—the Phoenix God; clearly, Haruka is the Priestess of the Dragon God. Miaka had seven warriors who protected her—Haruka has eight. Miaka had brown hair, Haruka's hair is chestnut; Miaka has huge, pretty eyes, Haruka has huge, cross-eyed ones. So you see, no adequate comparison.
Wow, its as if they are completly different. I've never seen Haruka but I've also read about the comparisons, however the way you just listed all these vast differences tells me just how original this series is. I'm gonna go out and buy- *reads article again* -rent this right away.

I've been struggling with whether or nor a single episode of the Genshiken OAV is really worth the price of a full DVD. I've never seen Kujibiki Unbalance but it simply looks bad and reviews like this remind me of that. I think I'll just wait until there is a seriously cheap blow out sale on it before picking this series up for those OAVs.

Curious. Isn't the man who adopts Solty named Roy?

That collection is displayed almost like a museum. Very neat and tidy.

On the note of the DVDs shown, I agree with the Aquarion review. I have heard that the storyline or plot isn't that special, but most everything else is very good. I might consider the series if they sell it all together.

Now about the collection, this guy has a pretty big collection of figures. Personally, I don't get why people want figures anyways. Don't get me wrong, if someone is going to give me one for free, I take it, but just don't get why people want to buy figures! What can you do with them anyways?

On note of what is simaliar in his collection to mine, I have Love Hina, Negima!, Genshiken, School Rumble, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Naussica and the Valley of the Winds. All really great movies and series.

I bought kujibiki just for the Genshiken ova, thinking i would pass on watching the series because of how wretched I thought the episodes on the genshiken release were, only to kind the kujibiki series quite funny. I thought the first episode was a little slow, but Renko is hilarious and I don't think I'd watch the show without her. Which is unusual because I'm usually more a fan of the quiet characters than the loud obnoxious ones.

I saw the first two episodes of Aquarion back at Gencon subbed, and thought it was pretty much a ripoff of Gravion except it took them longer to get to the transformation sequences. BUt I enjoyed watching the series dubbed.

I guess the moral of the story for me was, have low expectations going in, and it's hard to be disappointed. You might even enjoy yourself. I guess not every anime is Beck or Mushi-shi

I don't get the hate for Kujibiki Unbalance, I brought the collector's box and I really liked it, the first episode and part of the 2nd episode was pretty slow, however after that the series started to get really good. I loved the 3rd one with the Panda and the love spray. It's a good anime to watch if your bored and not really doing anything.

I will say however that Genshiken OAV itself was worth everything, I love how both were in a fight with Yaoi, that killed me when they were yelling about it.

I have to disagree with the Aquarion review now having watched the entire series I actually like the characters with all the flaws that they have. Anger, fear, rejection, love, hate. I think that we do not have alot of shows like EVA, Rahxephon and Aquarion that are thought provoking and get people to understand we all have these flaws. Finding friends that can fix our flaws and to boot I love both opening songs for the series. I will say that dub is not that good, watch in Japanese. I added the Aquarion box set to my collection. and the second half is preorder. Give it a chance i bet you like it. But Hey I am different person and I am told i have werid tastes

Every time I look at these collections I get insanely jealous and think "Why not me!!!???" but then I remember that there is absolutely no bringing any girls into a room like that without killing any and all chances you may have had. And before any female otaku here speak up saying they would love it, I mean attractive girls, and unfortunately, the majority of otaku girls are on the other side of that bar.

Damn, that's harsh.

Anyway I have to say I thought my blind buy of Aquarion was worth it. Maybe because my expectations were not that high, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first half. I'm a sucker for robots and all that, but I thought Aquarion had more to offer. Sure, it doesn't do anything new, and it doesn't raise the bar for the things it does do, but I found it enjoyable nonetheless.
