He's only done like, 5 films at the most. Isn't this retrospective a little early?

They're showing the same movies multiple times. This isn't like they had a huge back log to play from either. That's everything. I don't like the idea . Just give him the award for best animated feature and lets move on so he doesn't get lazy or cocky.

I'm suprised at how VERY little known his one-minute short for the NHK series Ani Kuri 15 is. You can find it on Youtube, it's episode 15.
Has anyone ever read his manga Kaikaisen? I'd also like to get my hands on World Apartment Horror, which Otomo scripted and Kon drew.
