Yay! Happy news! I just saw the first movie at the movie theater Wednesday night and I loved it! It's a good movie for a movie that's based on a long-running TV series. It was a surprisingly thoughtful movie. I keep turning some of the ideas presented in the movie over and over in my head like I'm studying an interesting looking seashell in my hands. If the second movie and this recently announced third movie are anything like the first movie, I'll be quite content. It's nice that they've used the TV series director to direct the movies--I'm sure that must lend a sense of continuity between the movies and the show. Wow, that sure was fun to watch characters that I'd seen on the small screen for so long on the big screen with great surround sound. I can only hope that they'll have a similar North American theatrical release for the third movie at some point in the future. Of course, I suppose I ought to reserve that hope for the second movie first.  |
