| Quote: | | In her article "Star-Spangled Ghibli: Star Voices in the American Versions of Hayao Miyazaki's Films," Rayna Denison, a British scholar whose work centers on the reception of Hayao Miyazaki's films in the West, looks at how films like Princess Mononoke have been presented to American audiences. |
I attended a lecture by this person during an anime industry seminar at my university. She went through this years TAF (albeit two weeks or so after ANN did). It's surprising how technical these people are. Until recently I didn't know that people published anime-related essays in academic journals, but then again I'm not aware of anything which happens within media studies. |
