The chairman of Nintendo is their majority owner, but I don't think that means they are actually owned by Nintento of America. Much of the rest of the ownership group, including all the day to day senior managers of the team consists of Seattle area business people not related to Nintendo.
That sounds like a pretty exciting trip for a bunch of kids to get to go on. I hope they have a good time here. Too bad the Mariners aren't having a better season this year, but I suppose Ichiro is the main attraction anyway so they'll get to see him play at least. |

Of course they had to choose Greg Oden!
Because he's the closest looking to Patrick Ewing, whom they probably based the center of Slam Dunk.
And I won't even go into the "gorilla" comments in the series (I wonder if Oden would still do it if he knew).  |
