Well, there have been worse- or, wait, have there? Kyoto Animation has turned out some pretty good stuff... sounds like this one will be a little... different. EDIT: Does that green furry whatever remind anyone of Gremlins?

Oh man, this anime just went from "Hrmmm" to "Must watch" simply because of Kyoto Animation.
KyoAni is the god of animation studios But seriously, I wish KyoAni would stop taking in new projects and JUST FRIGGING MAKE NEW Full Metal Panic already I want to see the ARX-8 Laevatein animated

Ugh .... Why does KyoAni just have to continue to make us wait by taking on new projects? They know what we truly want--more Haruhi and Full Metal Panic--so why?

KyoAni is now the worst studio because they figure "well, we'll obviously just make the most money if we keep turning out Key shit."
So, don't expect Haruhi or FMP for a few years, Clannad and Little Busters and other crap take precedence. |

This anime actually sounds really fun. why is it that now-a-days anything out the your otaku plot comfort zone why do you people put up your guards and request things that are already done and gone >_>? IT's ANIME GODDAMN IT! it's suppose to be strange and bizarre ARRGGHH!!! |

While this new title seems... intriguing. I would rather see the new Haruhi or FMP personally. They need to strike while the iron's hot. Eventually most of us will not care about new seasons of older shows.

It's fine if it's bizzare but... KyoAni has many other things it should focus on... Haruhi, the Key titles and Full Metal Panic. And to the person who made the comment about Key being crap, just... Please shut up. You don't like it, that's fine. But there are a decent portion of anime fans who love the melodrama in their series. It's not crap, it's a series of works YOU DON'T LIKE. This series just is too off from what KyoAni has been doing already. I know, we're supposed to venture outside our comfort zone but there is one primary thing I'm comfortable with this animation group and that is their quality of work. Be it the well written scripts for Lucky Star (Again, not crap, just not to your liking) or the high end glossy appearances given to the Key/Visual Arts animes, this just doesn't seem high quality. ...But most importantly, just... Put out Haruhi 2 already. The plot actually will get good once you've aired it, please, for the love of god, JUST FREAKING FINISH AND AIR IT ALREADY. And this is coming from a non-rabid fan of the show. I just wanna see it done already. |

Actually it sounds like a textbook Kyoani show to me. A show about Otakus and Otaku fetishes that's also a comedy. It's like the same essential formula they've had going for the last 3 years. I'm not even sure why I needed to read the description for it to be honest and can already picture the show more or less right now. Still it'll be an instant hit in Japan because it's what Otakus want an it will be an insant hit in America because Kyoani has some seriously die-hard fanboys over here that will watch anything by them just because they are doing it. And by god they'll learn to love it too whatever it takes....
I'm setting my expectations at the medicore to decent level which is how all their series have turned out for me. That is if I even bother to watch it. Not a big fan of the Yaoi fetish. |

It feels like something that's always going to have a release date of "next year."
Anyway, the premise sounds like it has Kodocha-style (older, yeah, but it's the best analogy that comes to mind) dramedy potential if done right. Works for me. |
