Hm. Speaking of Black Lagoon...has anyone actually managed to have found Second Barrage on store shelves?

Jason from New York has a decent amount of bootlegs in that collection.

I am not a romance fan by any stretch. But I love Rumbling Hearts, and have loved it ever since viewing the first episode on a NewType USA disk.

Honestly, if it wasn't for that disk (and that magazine), I would never have even touched the box Rumbling Hearts came in. And then I would have come here and made derisive comments about people loving "stupid love triangles".

But I did watch that disk, and did love that Anime, and I am very very happy that I did. I'm also very very sad that NewType USA went down the proverbial plughole.

Just recently, ADV released gems like Rune Soldier Louie, and the almost unheard of Hakugei: Legend of the Moby Dick.

If only I could drop the almost ...

.. of if the Black Lagoon cover had kicked its ass, rather than focusing on the blank line above it.

Didn't ADV already release a thinpack of Rune Soldier an age ago?

Yes, they did; I bought it.

Heeey I have the first thinpak collection of "Rune Soldier" too. I thought it was a very good series, with some great characters. It's along the same lines as Slayers, Those Who Hunt Elves and Sorcerer Hunters but is enjoyable in its own right.

Rumbling Hearts was quite the tearjerker too. For some reason I loathed every moment of watching that series but it left such an impact on me that I ended up buying the first boxset of it anyway. It was just so tumultuous, just couldn't stand seeing everyone tortured as they were.. one of those shows that I hated to love, and loved to hate and could never, ever in good faith, recommend to anyone. Those are my feelings with Koi Kaze, Beck and Mohoromatic too... ha.

Same here.

And I can tell you the new box design is a lot prettier. Not that it should matter all that much, but it kinda makes me sad. Sad

I'm trying to wait for the new Rune Solider to go on sale.

As for Black Lagoon, i didn't S1 know it had been re-released. I wanted to pick it up, but I haven't seen it in stores. Could it be that only S2 was re-released?

Counted about 7 bootlegs. Lol at the Code Geass on the bottom shelf. I can't say much though, I can see 8 on mine just from the bottom 2 shelves alone. Sad It's a work in progress to get legits.

No, Second Barrage is only being sold for the first time now, never mind re-releases.

7 bootlegs, though? I guess I was too focused on the Code Geass one to notice the rest. For a second I was thinking to myself "Man, am I the only one who hasn't gotten the Code Geass LE box yet?" Then I realized it came from Hong Kong.

Our friend, Sandra Cheng. The reason I only mentioned Sara's name was because vigilant ANN readers may recall that she stepped in for Robin Sevakis a few times for Anime News Nina.

IMHO, Black Lagoon should've been in the Shelf Worthy category.

Black Lagoon on the Rental Shelf ?!?! *gasp* , so I guess I ... third (?) what mulrich said. Aaahhh well, I guess it is not for everyone, but if you love lotsa violence and explosions, ooohh yeah. Rightstuf shipped my Second Barrage dvd 1 a few days ago, will prolly arrive today or tomorrow. I have already seen the entire second barrage series, signed up to the starz package and DVR'ed em, I still need to own em though, a couple of friends will be needing to see it.
