Glad to hear everyone's OK!

(partially because now this means you still have a chance to license Dream Hunter Rem *at the top of my please license list for over 20 years!!*)

Seriously though, I've got friends and family in Houston & so far, aside from some property damage everyone's been OK. I can only hope that the same remains true for the friends & family of ADV.

Oh? Are they going to release all 5 original OVAs, the two official versions of the first OVA, and the unreleased version of the first OVA (total of 7 OVAs if they do them all)?

I could have sworn someone already released the original porno version in the US with dubbed voices, and the non-porno remake along with the second OVA subtitled... Ah well, I cant check my VHS tapes right now, they are packed away in storage...

I totally forgot about ADV.... But it's only natural 'cause I had a lot of other things on my mind after Ike hit, like, my house. Good to see that they're all right, though.

we got lucky. unlike most neighborhoods, we got our electricity back the day after Ike hit. my sister's neighborhood has been without electricity since Friday, and all the stores are getting mobbed.

Dream Hunter REM???

Wow, I didn't think people would actually want to or remember it enough to see it licensed. Shocked

That OVA series is mostly fantasy cheesecake a la Valis or Time Gal only with a lower budget.

I hope everyone is safe their Gulf area. Now time to talk about something that not has important.

I think best Metaphor for the anime industry has been a Hurricane has hit it and it still hasn't stop.

Hopefully with their equipment they don't cause any power outages. My uncle's family is in Texas too, so I know how they are having to deal with the outcome. Here's to hoping damage was minimal to the office.

Good to hear about ADV. My regards to southeast Texas, I'm feeling for you. That first week after Gustav passed here was rough. My grandmother just got her power back tonight, if fact. Best wishes to all.

I hope ADV Films Headquarters will be just fine. Will ADV Films going to license new anime series like Dream Hunter REM, Raimuiro Senkitan TV and OVA, Raimuiro Ryuukitan X TV, and Papillon Rose in the future?

Cool, now they can start cranking out manga.....oh, uh nevermind. Yotsuba anyone? Cromartie? And as for anime, they got all of their good shows taken away from them and now they are mainly just reissuing their old catalog. I mean, honestly, what purpose does this company serve in the contemporary anime and manga market? I seem to recall a couple of years ago, one of the ADV voice actresses poopooing a hurricane that was threatening Houston because it delayed her plane flight. She also belittled the people fleeing it. So I could care less about this company, even though I live in Houston and am a passionate anime and manga fan. If it ceased operations tomorrow, it wouldn't make a difference. Its best shows are behind it.
