Totoro looks more awesome on the big screen than on home video.

Yeah, if only it was 1500 miles closer, I might take the kids... Of course considering that my kids hate dubs, maybe I'd have to take them to the midnight showing?

I wish I had known sooner, I could feasibly have gone.

...But then, it's not really worth driving 3 hours to see a movie I have on DVD.

The My Neighbor Totoro dub is actually pretty good though, since Disney got real actors to do it. I actually prefer it to the original.

hrm hrmmmmm... I think I recorded it on a vcr when the dub premiered on tcm back at the beginning of '06....haven't seen that in a while, though. This news is pretty sudden to me.

Is it really worth seeing it again on a big screen? After all, as wonderful as the movie is, I hope it wouldn't be at all embarrasing for an almost-18 year old male to see it.

Punk: With the exception of Fanning shattering your ear-drums, the dub's fine.

Animerican: No problem with being 18 and seeing it. I saw a couple who went for it at Hollywood Film Fest.
