Well, I think you are referring to season 1 dvds, and it's true they are pretty cheap now, but there is also a very nice season 1 set for a reasonable cost at TRSI as well. I bought it since the 6$ dvds weren't around at that time, plus I like the thinpacks a bit more that my shelf is very nearly full. I used to avoid them because I thought the regular boxes were cool.

The second season is even more fun than the first IMO, but the show in general is great. If you have any love for fun stupid comedy (that's not gross at all... ugh I hate gross-out stuff) about a bunch of individuals who just can't communicate clearly due to circumstance/stupidity/etc. then this is a show you'll definitely like. It's very random but still very easy to follow. The characters are likeable and while they certainly are made to fit certain generic molds, they aren't purely generic. The development is pretty good for many of the core characters.

Already watched S2 in Tagalog twice. Final episode had some really good Yakumo and Tenma moments. Maybe I'll warm up to Funi's dub once I get the S1 set. Still haven't seen the show in Japanese. Really need to catch up with current seiyuu, still mostly familiar with nineties "boom" talent.
