They're doing a second volume of that forgettable trash? Why do always only bad shows get sequels?

Forgettable trash? Have you already read the novel or something?

As far as I'm concerned this Katayama struck gold with Kure-nai (easily one of the top 5 anime of '08 for me and what scanlations have been made of the manga have been excellent) and would like to see him do it again here.

You beat me to it Emerje.

This is definitely not forgetable trash. The atmosphere and story are great. Kurenai was also great. It's a shame that both titles are not in R1 yet. Lightening struck twice here.

I don't care about the novel. I watched that anime and it was badly written as well as poorly directed so I don't feel like bother reading the novel it is based on.

But I like Kure-nai.

But that's your opinion. I thought that it was nicely directed and had a nice twist at the end. The animation was nice also. It's not for the weak of heart though.

A mature twisted title is a rare find nowadays.

It got an advance promotional internet screening on Bandai Channel's website last month. That's where I watched it, anyway.

I'm surprised by hara's reaction. I thought the OVA was well done.
I liked the contrast between this almost old-school, straightforward, sincere main character and the cynical twisted world around him. I've seen comparisons made with Ryuuji from Toradora.

The OVA covered a side mystery but didn't give us many answers about this strange girl who pledges loyalty to the main character. I assume the books develop that.

Oh, I see, that makes sense then. I wonder why that didn't make the news here (or fansubs for that matter).
