Oh wow. More Adachi to look forward to. I loved his approach with H2, and he has an interesting story telling style. Hopefully it won't be too long before we see some tankoubon volumes.

I missed something. I thought he hadn't finished a third part for Cross Game yet. Anime dazed He's starting a new one?

Edit: Oh I guess he thinks he'll be close to done by then?

Adachi really is one of the best mangaka.

I read nearly all his works so far (even if I've just started Cross Game and Katsu!), and the ones I liked most, among longer series, are Touch!, Rough and Miyuki.

The only one that was "only" good was H2 imho, it was just too long for what it had to say.

Here's hoping it's not a baseball manga. I'll read it and love it anyways if it is, but it's not like he's doing much in cross game that he hasn't in touch or h2. On another note, would it kill someone to license some of his work in the states? He's prolly one of the few mangaka that does sports series that I've always hoped would get picked up. It's not like he actually writes sports manga, they're really shounen romantic comedies that just happen to have sports in them o,o

Agreed, aside from like Short Program from Vis, which I think was only published flipped, we haven't seen anything from Mitsuru Adachi. Why not?

That's not how it'd seem to sports-allergic otaku who get hives just from any vicinity of sports aura. Laughing

We should beat some sense in them with a baseball bat then o,o;;

My experience with watching sports can be summed up as watching the occasional obligatory Pats, Sox, or Uconn game at a party. Adachi is still easily one of my favorite mangaka ever o,o;;

It IS a shame none of his longer works have been published in English. I don't think it's just because they are long, e.g. Katsu! is only 12 volumes and Rough has 16. The problem is those not only reek of sports, but his character designs would be hard to get over by most manga readers nowadays. On top of that, his manga are fan service free, so there really is not much of an audience.
