Um ok. This seems like this could get a few people in trouble but to those who enjoy this, more power to you.

I'm surprised there's not 20 responses saying how sick and disturbing this is, and whining about how anime ____ can't get more show produced.

I guess ANN isn't awake yet. Razz

i think it's BECAUSE of how other shows are having hard time getting produced, series like this is getting made...

it's a sure-fire hit with otaku male 18-35 who probably buys most of anime DVDs....

make shows that cater to most male population, make quick buck, and run....

maybe sad but hard to blame in this unstable economic times...

personally, i think it might get few chuckles but will be soon forgotten...

I think it's because Today in Class 5-2 is an ecchi comedy, but focuses on elementary school kids.

So yeah, middle school ecchi is pretty much commonplace.

Shouldn't stuff like this be BANNED? I mean, anime should focus on more serious, more realistic issues in life and NOT be abused and NOT focus on nothing but moe, lolicon, useless hentai, fan-service and fetishes! We don't NEED an anime about a girl who has a fetish for lacey undergarments! Why can't there be an anime about World War II (Tezuka's Adolf is an example), The Civil War, autism (Tobe's With The Light is an example), the aftermath of Kennedy's assassination, the Vietnam war, slavery, or all that stuff?!?

So soon after the Handley case, I would have to agree. At the very least, in fear of repercussions of said case, it'll never be licensed Stateside.

Bingo. If a 2nd season of Queens' Blade can get greenlit, then why not _this_? Rolling Eyes I'm not surprised. Disappointed. But not surprised.

What a massive over-reaction.

I don't know if Today in Class 5-2 is a good comparison, but it was quite innocent despite (because of?) featuring even younger kids than this one.

There's even a chance it may seriously touch on the issue of pubescent girls "worried about their bodies' development", however lightly.

8/10 You started laying it on a bit too thick toward the end there, but a good job nonetheless.

I don't think all anime needs to be serious. Look at movies. There are lots of movies that get released each year that deal with serious topics but there are also lots of other movies filled with action and romance that get released. Maybe there be less made of the things you said but I wouldn't say anime needs to be serious

Those would be interesting but I wonder if there is any interest in those topics in Japan. Slavery might work but the others seem in be more of foreign affairs.

Because not half as many people would buy it thats why. I'm perfectly happy to let the crowd that shell out dough for this sort of thing to keep doing it so anime companies can survive to make the good stuff.

because half that stuff woudln't sell perhaps.

I also find it interesting how Handley case is always brought up when fanservice is mentioned...

Basically, my point is, it seems ever since...well, possibly 2005 or 2006, nearly 80% of anime has consisted of nothing but moe, lolicon, chest groping, useless fan-service and fetishes! And people actually LIKE THAT STUFF!!! There DOES NOT need to be any more of that, especially this one! I mean, we need to increase the population of anime WITHOUT that stuff! I mean, even shows from the World Masterpiece Theater don't have that stuff and they're SO GOOD...yet they're underappreciated.

Quite an exaggeration there, as I'd say that percentage is closer to 1/3, but that is definitely far too much. I can only wonder what they'll make once we're all oversaturated with ecchi.
